Admissions Process

Greater priority is given to families who complete the admissions process prior to December 31st. Doing so will maximize your ability to secure a seat, obtain financial aid, and receive merit awards.

Step 1. Inquire

The first step in our admissions process is to fill out a brief interest form. Then, a member of our team will reach out to you to discuss any questions you have and help you with the next steps.

Step 2. Apply & Submit Documents

Once you’re ready to apply, you’ll submit the following documents to admissions@chestertonsta.org.

This will include:

– Your application
– Official 6-8 grade transcripts*
– Three teacher recommendations including literature, math, and a subject of your choice

*If your student is a transferring high school student, we will also request official transcripts from high school.

Step 3. Assessment & Essay

All students are required to take a placement exam as part of the enrollment process and write essay. The placement exam is used as a diagnostic tool to ensure students are placed in the appropriate section of math or Latin, and to help identify areas of academic strengths and opportunities for growth. We administer the Classical Learning Test 8 as our placement exam for incoming freshmen.

The placement exam covers:
– Verbal reasoning skills
– Grammar and writing skills
– Quantitative reasoning skills
– An optional Latin exam is also offered

Step 4. Headmaster Meeting

Once the majority of the admissions process is complete, we’ll schedule a meeting with you, your student, and our headmaster to ensure we’re the right fit for your family.

Tuition

Chesterton Academy’s cost per student is $16,900, but thanks to the generosity of donors, all students will receive an automatic scholarship of $8,000.Therefore, our tuition rate for the 2025 – 2026 school year is $8,900. This tuition rate is competitive in our area. Our annual enrollment/re-enrollment fee is $500. Though we strive to keep tuition affordable, in order to keep up with rising costs, families can expect a modest increase of about 5% in our tuition rate each year.

Financial Aid

We work hard to make our Catholic education affordable for as many families as possible. We also offer a variety of merit awards for incoming students who demonstrate excellence in academics, fine arts, or Catholic discipleship.Greater priority is given to families who complete the admissions process prior to December 31st.
